- The above photographs illustrate
a selection of British and Northern European Blue
butterflies. Blues are notoriously difficult to identify
in the field or even from photographs if their wings are
worn. It is hoped that the Mountain Alcon Blue Maculinea
rebeli is a correct identification. The
location (Reserva Nacional de Saja) was
certainly appropriate for this rarity.
