CLOUDED YELLOW BUTTERFLY
Colias croceus

BLACK-VEINED WHITE BUTTERFLY Aporia
crataegi
- Digital photographs of a
couple of splendid Pierid butterflies found at high
altitude in the French Hautes-Pyrenees. The Clouded
Yellow was freshly emerged and in perfect
condition. The Black-veined White was on
the wing at a much later date than expected (25th
August), presumably as a consequence of poor summer
weather.
