- The White-faced
Bush Cricket is a large and very heavily built
but rather unobtrusive insect which belongs to the same
genus (Decticus) as the Wart
Biter. Several individuals were photographed and
none made any effort to move. Although the female in the
first picture is a final instar nymph the dimensions of
her fearsome looking ovipositor are already obvious!
These bush crickets were found near Cantobre in the South
of France.
