• Nomad Bees are cleptoparasites of Mining Bees from the genus Andrena. Nomada lathburiana is found in association with the Grey Mining Bee Andrena cineraria and N. flava with Andrena nitida and possibly some other similar species. The second photograph illustrates N. lathburiana hovering close by the entrance of an Andrena cineraria nest. Several examples of Andrena mining bees may be seen on Hymenoptera 3.

• The biology of these bees has been described in detail in David Baldock's excellent and thoroughly researched 'Bees of Surrey', a book which will be of value to hymenopterists throughout the UK and (judging from the very positive French reviews) those operating in northern Europe as well.
