                                    RAFT SPIDER Dolomedes fimbriatus

• Dolomedes fimbriatus is one of the largest British arachnids. This striking member of the Pisauridae is associated with swamps and marshes and it is relatively easy to locate near to wet heathland ponds in the south of England. The Fen Raft Spider D. plantarius is much rarer and confined to suitable sites in East Anglia.
